The Women Who Made Sweden Colorful
4 June–4 September 2016
An exhibition about the women who made revolution in the linen closets, the living rooms, the textile and clothing industry and put Sweden on the international design map. With designers such as Viola Gråsten, Katja of Sweden, Astrid Sampe and Greta Grossman.
In connection with Oomph, “The Feminist Vision” is shown by Helena Olsson. The work is a video installation that takes place in a fictional place called the Herland and in a collective house built in 1940 for professionals, single women in Stockholm. The work places a series of questions about housing standards and the woman’s situation in the 1940s and today. What places allow collective change?
