Photography, rewritten newspaper articles

Every day I read the short articles about events in Malmö, that were published without accompanying photographs in Sydsvenskan (a daily newspaper published in southern Sweden). Based on the description of where these events took place, I visited the locations to take photographs. Sometimes there were clear traces of the incident and it was easy to determine where it had occurred while with other events I needed to use guesswork. Usually, the notices concerned assaults and burglaries.

With my pictures, I wanted to ask questions of photographic representation by focusing on the media. There was also an investigation into how time and photography relate to each other. Photographs are often used as evidence and they have a strong authority within both news coverage and the judicial system, while the knowledge of how to manipulate images is becoming easily accessible and user-friendly.
